Creative Brief
For my story retelling, I want to tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood. There are definite changes that I want to make to update the story, the biggest of which that I want to give the women in the story a lot more power.
In doing some more looking into the story I found that the original story actually did have Little Red—or should I say Little Gold, the original story was about Little Golden Hood—saving the day in some very clever ways. It wasn’t until the Grimm Brothers got ahold of the story much later that the role of the Huntsman was introduced.
While researching I also found that there is a similar East Asian story called The GranAunt Tiger in which the little girl defeats the tiger with Home-Alone-like antics.
I still need to flesh out the details of the story with my boards but I know I’ve got a lot of really fun work ahead of me.
