Intro to 3D Character Modeling

When we started working in Cinema 4D I instantly knew that I wanted to take this opportunity to learn about character modeling. I found this tutorial on Youtube which I found very useful and it taught me about a lot of basic tools that I used for my model which you can see here. I found this process really enjoyable and I want to continue working on my model to make it have more character. I also think that it would be very fun to 3D print my model when I’m done!

These are the very rough sketches that I based the model off of. I didn’t worry too much about making them pretty because I knew what I wanted the end result to be, I just needed the basic shapes and proportions.

The model started with a cube which then slowly got rounded and molded.

The arms were particularly hard to get the shape of, they’re still a little blockier than I would like, but that’s something I have to work on later!

The last step before recording the turnaround was adding color.
